On September 24th, Sylvia & AJ had a gorgeous wedding ceremony and reception at the Newton White Mansion. This venue is “One of the most beautiful venues in Prince George’s County, Newton White Mansion is located in an exquisitely picturesque setting in Mitchellville, Maryland. The Neo-Georgian-style brick mansion sits on 586 acres of lush green land that includes Enterprise Golf Course.”-Newton White Mansion
Sylvia & AJ live in Los Angeles, California and had to plan this lovely destination wedding with minimal personal interaction with any of their vendors including us at Putting on the Ritz, HoneyDo Wedding & Event Planners, and many more! We met with the couple two times throughout the entire process and that’s all that was needed to plan their extravagant wedding.
Their Newton White Mansion wedding ceremony was held outside at their fountain centered brick patio surrounded by lush woodlands and gardens. As the couple read their vows to each other, autumn orange and yellow leaves fell from the trees above. Their ceremony was absolutely beautiful!

After a bit of brainstorming, we were able to put together a wonderful extensive menu that included everything that the couple envisioned and was able to please everyone’s palate! The couple chose to have our Sesame Chicken Skewers, Grafton Puff Framaggio, Petite Beef Wellington, and Classic Bruschetta passed around to their guests and a live action Dim Sum Station (table side steamed dumplings) for cocktail hour in the ballroom.
The Newton White Mansion wedding reception was held in the oval-shaped atrium that featured a gorgeous central skylight. A plentiful three entrée buffet was presented in the dining room showcasing our Hand Carved Top Round of Beef, Honey & Sesame Encrusted Chicken, Fusilli Palermo, Roasted Red Potatoes with Thyme & Rosemary, and Steamed Broccoli topped with Asiago Cheese. The couple selected items sure to accommodate any dietary restriction.
In addition to the fun photo booth provided by Oh Snap Events Photo Booth, wonderful music selection by DJ Tom Hoef, and fantastic candid shots by DeJohn Davis, Sylvia & AJ decided to break the cake cutting tradition and fed each other adorable MR. & MRS. CAKE POPS! How cute is that?
