Putting on the Ritz had the pleasure of returning to Raspberry Plain Manor in Leesburg, Virginia to cater the wedding of Courtney and Alvin this past spring. Dating back to 1731 and rebuilt in 1916, Raspberry Plain Manor with its historic architecture and style were the perfect setting for this elegant wedding and reception.
The outdoor ceremony overlooking the rolling hills was adorned with sprays of beautiful cherry blossoms and white flowers which mimicked the bride’s bouquet. Although just before the ceremony a few dark clouds loomed and scattered rain drops fell, the sky cleared just in time for the ceremony to go off as planned.
During the cocktail hour, Putting on the Ritz passed six different hors d’oeuvres including our petite crab cakes, vegetable dim sum, coconut chicken, mini angus sliders, shrimp wrapped with applewood smoked bacon and petite chicken and waffles with grand marnier syrup.
While enjoying cocktails, Courtney and Alvin provided a stunning backdrop of paper flowers and rhinestones for a photo station that would be added to their guest book.
Following the cocktail hour, guests found their table assignments from the seating chart that was posted on one of Raspberry Plain Manor’s large mirrors outside of the ballroom. Such a creative way to utilize the space and work within the elegant theme. Putting on the Ritz worked with Courtney and Alvin to create a delicious buffet dinner that featured pan seared salmon with bourbon glaze, southwestern chicken with an apricot-chipotle rub, asiago mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus spears.
The magnificent windows with spectacular panoramic views of the majestic countryside made the perfect backdrop to this romantic love story come to life.
The ballroom was stunning with flowers and linens that enhanced the beauty and elegance of Raspberry Plain Manor and its surroundings.
As an added surprise to guests, with a fast re-set of the dinner buffets, Putting on the Ritz provided a fun dessert station featuring jumbo cookies, brownies, blondies and an assortment of pies including apple, pecan, chocolate cream and key lime in lieu of wedding cake.
Putting on the Ritz would like to thank the combined efforts of Dominique,Dallis and all of the Completely Yours event planning staff that made the evening such a memorable occasion for Courtney, Alvin and all of their special guests.
