I had a great time Saturday at one of my favorite Baltimore wedding locations, the American Visionary Art Museum. I was pleased that Putting on the Ritz played a part in making Lindsay and Ram’s wedding day special. We utilized the entire AVAM campus for this multicultural celebration, with a traditional Indian ceremony taking place in the Barn and followed by a western ceremony. A refreshment break featuring light snacks separated the two ceremonies, and allowed time for the guests to peruse the museum and experience all of the unique exhibits.
The guests then adjourned to the third floor of the Visionary Art Museum’s Jim Rouse Building for the wedding reception. Just like the two wedding ceremonies, the reception offered a little something for everyone. The Royal Taj restaurant of Columbia provided Indian hors d’oeuvres for the cocktail hour, along with a selection of authentic Indian entrees. Putting on the Ritz supplemented the hors d’oeuvres being offered with a few of my personal favorite passed items and several flavorful entrees for dinner. Guests thoroughly enjoyed the samplings of each type of cuisine.
Continuing with this theme, the night concluded with another marriage of cultures; Putting on the Ritz presented a Sundae bar along with cakes and pies, and the Royal Taj provided two traditional Indian desserts.
A great time was had by all.
